The Eurographics Symposium on Geometry Processing (SGP) is the premier venue for disseminating new research ideas and cutting-edge results in geometry processing. In this research area, concepts from mathematics, computer science, and engineering are studied and applied to offer new insights and design efficient algorithms for acquisition, modeling, analysis, manipulation, simulation and transmission of complex 3D models.

In 2014, SGP will be held in Cardiff University, UK from July 9 to 11. To continue a recent new tradition, SGP will offer a graduate school on July 7-8 specifically targeted towards graduate students. Courses will be taught by leading experts in the field and complemented by hands-on practical exercises to provide an in-depth knowledge of some of the most important aspects of geometry processing.

We invite submissions related to, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Acquisition and reconstruction
  • Analysis and fabrication for 3D printing
  • Discrete differential geometry
  • Exploration and learning of shape collections
  • Geometric modelling and fabrication
  • Geometry and topology representations
  • Geometry Compression
  • Geometry processing applications
  • Interactive techniques
  • Meshing and remeshing
  • Multiresolution modelling
  • Robust geometry processing
  • Shape analysis and synthesis
  • Simulation and animation
  • Smoothing and denoising
  • Surface and volume parameterization

Important Dates

  • Abstract Submission: April 10, 2014
  • Full paper submission: April 15, 2014
  • Notification of Acceptance: May 27, 2014
  • Camera-Ready Copy Due: June 16, 2014
  • Two days of Tutorial: July 7-8, 2014
  • Three Days of Conference: July 9-11, 2014

Proceedings

The SGP proceedings will appear as a regular electronic issue of Computer Graphics Forum, the International Journal of the EUROGRAPHICS Association. The journal status of the proceedings requires a two-stage review process with conditional acceptance after the first round and final acceptance based on revised submissions.

Posters

A poster session will provide an additional informative look into ongoing research. Authors of submissions with high potential but which have not been accepted as papers will be invited to provide a poster for this session. Poster papers will be published as short papers in the EG digital library.

If authors wish to submit their papers only for the poster session, please submit the paper using the same submission system, and let PC chairs know by emailing paperchairs@geometryprocessing.org.

Software Award

To encourage the distribution of high quality software in geometry processing, since 2011 an annual award has been given for freely available software related to or useful for geometry processing. Please send nominations and applications for the software award to awardnominations@geometryprocessing.org.
